Joe Stolee

Barb spent thirty-five years building up his sales and marketing experience in the corporate world before moving to stewardship work for Lutheran organizations. He’s also a lifelong Lutheran, the son and nephew of pastors, with considerable experience serving on church councils, including as Council Chair. Other highlights of his experience include:

  • Lifelong Lutheran who has served in many service and leadership roles in Lutheran congregations, as Sunday School teacher, choir member, board member and congregational chair
  • Past member of ABT Synod Council (8 years) and ABT rep to National Church Council (6 years)
  • Quality Improvement facilitator in health services: guiding clinical teams in understanding and improving their organization and processes, leading a team of internal quality improvement consultants, facilitating groups in strategic planning, including senior leaders in the public health portfolio
  • Holds a BSN from U of Alberta and an MBA from Athabasca U
  • Current active volunteer with IMAGINE, a citizen group influencing health care from the “outside”
  • Member of ALDE (Association of Lutheran Development Executives)
  • ABT Synodical trainer (at the invitation of Bishop Larry) for the ELCIC Boundaries Workshops for rostered leaders

In his spare time, Joe enjoys cheering for his favourite sports teams (Go Oilers and Esks!), camping, travel, meeting new friends and visiting old ones, and playing with his six grandchildren.
